Inspecting the field
I'd like you opinion on a point of contention among a few members of the local umpires assoc.
When I arrive at the park, I like to get there early enough to accomplish 3 things before the plate conference. 1) a complete pregame with my partner(s) 2) inspect all the equipment, and 3) walk the fence Some of the umps around here say walking the field is overkill at the NFHS level. I say why not be prepared? Could be the NCAA work I have done?
