I disagree that it is another play. I think it would be a continuation of the current play. I agree with Steve's input, especially the no-risk 1st and 3rd scenario. I am attending an NCAA camp this weekend with good umpires on the clinic staff. If I get a chance to chat with Sally Walker, who will also be there, I will ask her for an interpretation on this scenario.

Got my answer today...in short, the illegal pitch on ball 4 is cancelled when the BR reaches 1B, just as if she hit it. She can be put out. The play is not killed unless there are runners on who do not advance safely at least one base.
