Shame on me why?

Ball is pitched. The ball bounce in front of the plate and rolls into the foot of the batter. How is that not a hit by pitch for which the ruleset being used directs that the batter is awarded first base?

BTW: I really wish you would follow your own opinion and not comment on my posts like you have said you wouldn't do.

Usssa follows this as well. Most of time it's not an issue but it is maddening when the ball rolls and the batter does nothing to avoid getting hit

I'm confused...

You're doing high school ball that has added local league modifications? Honestly never heard of such a thing.

(If it's U-Trip, please post it as such ... that's surely not the default assumption on here).

In the "Please confirm - misc" topic last week:

2) ASA rules require avoidance effort by batter if HBP. Others (NHFS, PONY, USSSA) do not if completely in batters box.
