The saving grace in this, to me, is the fact that B1 missed the basket. Try telling Coach A that not only are we going to shoot two at the other end, but he doesn't get any points for the ball going...

I don't have my rule book with me at work but I do not think this is a T, by rule. I believe the rule states a player cannot "remove" his/her jersey on the court. Simply untucking it is not a T, by...

Court Coverage

Does the lead in NCAA rules have a different court coverage than in NFHS? Maybe I am mistaken, but it seems to me that I have seen some leads make foul or violation calls on the lead's side, but...

Our District Director this past season (HS, NFHS rules) made it clear that the state directed that the Head Coach must attend the pre-game conference. No questions asked. I know that there could be...

While it is true that he missed the free throw, as well as Xavier losing a 9 point lead with three minutes to go, I don't think this excuses what appeared to be a fairly obvious intentional foul.

I agree that it would be nice to see it again but the actual play and the replay seemed to indicate no attempt to play the ball, just a straight push. These calls never decide games since Xavier had...

I would agree with you. I would love to have heard the explanation they gave to Coach Miller on that one.

Affirmative, the R took care of that already. I reported it to the R who was checking the scorebook and he notified the coaches.

That's why I wanted to ask this. I had no idea that he was telling the truth, althugh if I had to guess I would say he was. But, if this happened would you ask to see the other shirt before the T? ...

New Ruling: Senior Night

Boys Varsity game last night. I am U1 watching home warm-up. Home player dunks the ball during the lay-ups. It was a clear dunk with the rim moving and backboard shaking and the visiting coach...

Illegal Uniform Technical

Boys JV game, first quarter. I am L on table side. Team A has a throw-in on the endline in their back court. B is pressing hard so I am up the side line close to the table. The horn sounds and...

I did see the game so I have to throw this out for clarification. I do not know NCAA rules, and most times I work HS games I am told I don't know NFHS rules either, but that's another story. What I...

I am hanging myself out on this one but I did this the other night in a boys varsity game. I was lead. A1 dribbled down the lane and was blocked by B1. I ignored the contact (why, I really have NO...

If this happens and it results in a technical foul for delay, I am thinking that you do NOT change the possession arrow. So, if Team B delays and Team A had the AP throw-in, you would assess a T...

I tried to find this in the rule book or case book but I can't. Can someone tell me if this situation is in either book: After halftime Team A is entitled to the throw-in. Team A is on the court,...

Thanks everyone. I now conclude I should have called the T. I also think it is necessary to call it because, in this game, it was a hard fought game. There was no rough play or any scuffles, but...
