.... and if you claim that she left after pitcher had ball in circle AND after BR reached 1B (LBR is in effect), R1 would be out.

Since ball is still live, your only options are R1 got a clean...

I'm confused. You called interference on a non-player (R2) which made R1 out because he was the lead runner. Where was the interference? Seems to me that F3 made a judgement error.

3. R1 back to 3B

If I understand this correctly, BR hits slow roller to F4, BR beats throw to 1B but only steps on white bag. Therefore, BR is called out on live ball appeal since F3 touched 1B before BR returned to...

Double bag appeal

How is an appeal on the double bag handled?

BR hits slow roller to F4 and is running to 1B. F4 bobbles and throws to F3. BR beats throw to 1B but steps in white bag and not red bag. BR...

R2 safe at 2nd and run scores.

LBR is off when pitcher throws to second. Personally, I'm giving some latitude on LBR if F1 and R1 are in a staring contest especially if F1 has arm cocked. Now,...

It appears the problem is in my head not on the field. I thought there would be a problem with the mask, ribbing by coaches/fans, etc. So I'll get my new prescription and call em like I see em...

Wearing glasses

Was having some vision problems last year, but was able to survive the season without my glasses. Now, my distance vision is a bit worse and umpiring without glasses is not an option.

Eye doctor...

The number of officials who are willing to do grade school level sports will continue to decline as long as

2. Coaches are allowed to yell at...

Timing Play or not

Saw this last nite in WS and got me thinking.

R1 on 3B. 2 outs. BR bunts toward 1B. F3 picks up bunt and goes to tag BR. BR stops and a) does not move or b) backs up. F3 realizes that BR has...

Also, red/white bag at 1B. After BR becomes R, the red/white bag is just one big bag for plays on R.

What you're saying is that I wouldn't signal delayed dead ball (hand out to side) until both elements are met. Having the catcher camp in front of the plate is not obstruction until the runner gets...

Obstruction at the plate

Mechanics question.

R1 at 2B. Ball hit to LF. R1 rounds 3B coming home. Catcher is parked in front of plate waiting for throw. Question is, when do you signal obstruction-- i.e., hand out to...

Lbr

Passed ball; R1 goes to 3B from 2B. R1 rounds third and takes a healthy lead. Catcher squares to throw to 3B but doesn't. Throws to pitcher instead who is in the circle - both feet.

Pitcher...

I've had the AD reschedule a game due to a wet field. It was a freshman game and the varsity game was the next nite. He didn't want to trash the field for the varsity game.

Foul ball. BR touches foul ball in foul territory. If we have a foul ball and BR touches it inadvertently in foul territory, we still have a foul ball. That way, I'm not trying to figure out...

Just to clarify

K freekicks to R. R throws IFP at R20.
1. K catches R's throw. It's K's ball whereever ball is dead provided they decline IFP.
2. R catches R's ball. It will be R's ball 1/10 at R10 after...

As I understand it, that's still a 15-yd penalty, you only enforce 10 yds because of the goal line half-distance exception.:)

I'm confused. Why is this an appeal play? Bases loaded. Ball hit to F5. R1 must touch home prior to the defense touching home. Ball is still live and playable. F2 touches home plate before R1...
