I agree that this leaves players unwatched but I've always thought I should watch the sideline - not necessarily back court - because the T is too far away to see a step/dribble on that sideline (2...

My partner had a classic a couple weeks ago. We almost never say anything to fans but this was an exception. Fast break, I'm going to L, partner trailing. A1 goes up for a layup, B1 tries to...

I don't have my rule book on me right now but I believe Camron and paxsonref are correct. It's not a violation to fumble the ball in an attempt to end a dribble. A player could recover the ball in...

2-5-5 gives the referee the power to correct obvious timing errors, it doesn't restrict how they occured.

Yup, 1.94 seconds when the official made a mistake by chopping the clock in prematurely. Just like BZ has been telling you for days. There was no timer error to correct. Now that we...

Since the ball hadn't changed possesion, you just continue from the FT. If B had the ball at some point in there, you'd shoot the one FT with the lane clear then go back to the point of...

You are partially right, Maverick. A referee can correct a timing error under rule 2.5.5. What you don't seem to understand though is that the referee can now only correct that timing error by...

I have been claiming the total opposite. I have been saying that 5-10 has nothing to do with this situation because it wasn't a [B]TIMER'S[\B] (who is a person) mistake, it was a [B]TIMING[\B] (a...

You quoted a rule that doesn't exist. There isn't anything in 5-10 that says it is "limited to" timer's mistakes. Besides, if you say that it clearly states that type of error can't be corrected,...

Not at all correct. I don't see the word "only" anywhere in 5-10. 5-10 is dealing with timer's mistakes and says officials can correct them. It doesn't say that is the only kind of timing mistake...
