In 2005, evolutionary biologists Russell Hill and Robert Barton at the University of Durham, UK showed that wearing red clothing positively impacted an athlete's performance. They suggested that this was due to an association between red and dominance and/or aggression.

I wonder if Tim Donaghy awarded more points when he saw green?

It would be interesting to see this experiment repeated in another culture. My understanding is that in China, for instance, the assignment of colors to attributes is very different. Here in the west red is obviously associated with aggression or danger. In China, as I understand it, red symbolizes good fortune. So would the outcome be similar? If this supposed bias toward red is cultural, would it show differently in cultures that assigned different attributes to its colors?
