1. I didn't make the original statement.
2. It's not a statement I would make online or in person.
3. I posted my reaction to the internet bravado exhibited in your response to a comment that was obviously in jest.
4. I would have reacted the exact same way had I overheard a similar exchange in person.

If being put off when witnessing a silly exchange ruins my credibility here, so be it.

You do not know many people across the country do you? You really think someone would not give crap for saying that very thing? Dude, I have family in Texas and my dad lived their for years, I used to give them crap all the time about a lot of their Texas ways.
