NCAA Timing - Double Change of Posession

A's pass is intecerpted by B. During the return, B fumbles and A recovers.

Does the game clock start on the ready or the snap (or does it depend?)

CANADIAN RULING:

Before the 3-minute warning, by rule, the clock should not even stop!

On the snap for a new series after a change of possession (should be 1/10 for A).

That rule was changed some time back As long as A is still snapping, it will start on the RFP assumingthere was not something else, i.e. runner OOB in last 2 min of a half, backward pass OOB, etc

NFHS Rules: The clock starts on the RFP. The clock always starts on the snap when B gets a new series, but only after a legal kick when A gets a new series (or another major clock stopper).

Since I time NCAA games, on a possession change: A to B and back to A, the play clock will set to 40 seconds and the game clock will start on the Referee's wind. The exception is as TXMike points out when under 2 minutes and team-A runner went OOB.

Thanks. I was asking as a timer. Since there was also a penalty on the play, we did 25 and RFP.

Now if I can just remember this until the next time it happens.

Yes. And my point wasn't to question what he did, just to be ready to anticipate it next time.

Yet under UIL exceptions, the clock would start on the snap for Texas HS correct?
