Penalty Enforcement

On a normal run past the LOS the penalty enforcement for holding is from the spot.

Normally, but not always.


NF: All fouls BUT one are enforced from the basic spot. (aka 3 and one)

All but = 1) Foul by B beyond the basic spot, 2) Foul by A beyond the basic spot, 3) Foul by B behind the basic spot.

The One= Foul by A behind the basic spot.

What are the basic spots?

Running play = end of the run
Loose ball play = previous spot

Now given this, what do you say?

I think in NCAA, they don't penalize A behind the basic spot but the previous spot, i.e. a hold by A behind the LOS, penalize from previous spot.

For NCAA:

Not all fouls go back to the previous spot. All the different fouls for illegal blocks and personal fouls do go back the previous spot. Those that don't would be illegal batting, kicking, illegal passes. Those would be from the spot of foul.
