To honor Tressel or not at the HS level

Week one was last weekend. some coaches honored tressel but most did not.

To clarify, Tressel did not "break rules and cover up improper benefits". He broke the rules by covering up the improper benefits.

The coaches wanted to thank Tressel for paying attention to them. His predecessor ignored HS coaches. One of the reasons for Tressel's success was his ability to keep Ohio players home and not leave the state and that was due, in large part, to his relationship with high school coaches. Despite his behavior with regard to the OSU players' benefits, he did a lot of good for high school football and the coaches appreciated that.

He was required to report a violation of rules when he became aware of the violation.

He did not.

Then he covered it up.
