Odd Catch/no Catch

A88 jumps up near the sideline to catch a pass. He comes down on top of a defender B23, who's helmet is touching the sideline and the rest of his body is in the field of play. A88's body comes down totally in the field of play, but first touches B23's body before touching the ground.

Although tough to describe, would A88 be considered out of bounds here since he is touching a player who is out of bounds?

No.

2-29-1 A player or other person is out of bounds when any part of the person is touching anything, other than another player or game official that is on or outside the sideline or end line.

But wait a minute walt...

So... lets talk about what "is touching" actually means?
For example, does that mean if a player intentionally goes out of bounds and the leaps into the air and...
