The ball is dead when time expires. The shot was not released before the horn so the the player can never become an airborne shooter. With ball dead, the player can not be attempting a shot any more and since they're also not an airborne shooter they don't have the protections of an airborne shooter...no shot, no foul.

THe "act of shooting" begins with the start of the try, and includes the airborne shooter.

An airborne shooter is a player who has released the ball on a try.
