The player wearing white chose to take his off, as three other players were wearing black. (The white sheep was the problem this time.)

The coach of course said, "Even for a JV game?" Yes coach, even for a JV game. I didn't get a sub then, just waited; but wish I had because it took awhile for him to take off his shoes, remove the sleeve and then put shoes back on.
By rule he has one minute to fix the uniform situation without penalty, but after that it is a team technical foul per 10-1-5a.

"Coach. I need a sub for A1".

This is an equipment issue, not a uniform issue. Why allow one minute? Also, does it matter whether it's a uniform issue, or an equipment issue?

3.6.1 SITUATION: A6 enters the game with an excessive manufacturer’s or
school’s logo on his/her: (a) socks; or (b) wristbands. RULING: Legal in (a). In
(b), A6 may not participate and is directed to return to the bench until legally
equipped.
COMMENT: The restriction on visible manufacturer’s or school’s logo
size is in effect on pants/skirts, compression shorts, wristbands and headbands.
The shoes and socks are not considered part of the uniform for purpose of visible
logo size.

Because a team may legally delay the start of a half by 59 seconds for any reason or even no reason at all.

A trend we're seeing, a lot, in our area, is the kids rolling the waistband on their uniform shorts, such that the label/logo is seen at the back. Our assignor has instructed us to not allow it. I've been telling the players that if they want to roll the waistband, they need to roll it inward, so the label/logo doesn't show. Some players have complied, but when they have been subbed out, they return with the label/logo showing, again.

They should wear their shorts inside out, then it won't be a problem.

Send them back to the bench.

"Coach, need another sub, this one isn't ready."

And the player subbed out isnt' going to be eligible yet.

A team shall not: Allow the game to develop into an actionless contest, this includes
the following and similar acts:
a. When the clock is not running consuming a full minute through not being
ready when it is time to start either half.

Headband, wristband, arm sleeve, or jewelry: I'll wait.

Undershirt (not removed at bench), or leg sleeve (involving taking off a shoe): "Coach. I need a sub for A1". If the coach complains, I'll give him his minute.
