Panther - sounds like you were at my B18U Rec game this weekend - when I whacked the coach!

Stupid questions can be annoying, but I'd rather a coach ask them than get frustrated and do something worthy of a tech later.

Pregame....."If you have a question, ask nicely. If you have a comment, keep it to yourself, unless it's a compliment 😃."
Sometimes I throw in, "Coaches coach, players play, and officials officiate, any questions?" Save the best for last ![]() |

That is a great sentiment. Unfortunately, telling the coaches in the pregame they need to ask questions in a civil manner is not going to have any impact on their actions during the game. They already know this. What it will do is lead to some idiot asking a dumbass question and then following up with well you said ask anything. I think a statement reminding them that they are expected to act professionally/respectfully gets the same point across. It is just as ineffective, but it is less open-ended and will lead to less smartass comments. |
