Did anyone catch this no call?

I apologize up front if this play was referenced and discussed on here before.
Obviously Kevin Love and Rick Adelman can't believe it, nor can most of the crowd at the Target Center. Two officials had a good view of this and no call.
Would you have called this or let it go? (hopefully the link works)

Aren't we supposed to let the players decide the game?

Sorry....couldn't help myself.

Yes. We caught it. And discussed it.

This happened a month ago.

Discussed here. NBA said it should have been a foul. Some of us (including me) disagreed.

If the NBA says it was a foul, it was a foul. Now travels on the other hand....

Adam & Ref16,

I do not see how you could agree that this should have been a no call. Are you saying that because the defender grabbed 90% of the shooters hand and touched 10% of the ball, this is a no call?

I thought this was not a foul. It was not obviously a foul. It looks like the defender got to the ball first and any other contact would be incidental. I would not be happy personally if I called a foul on this play after seeing it in slow motion replay. Again, that is why they call it judgment.

Peace

The hand was on the ball, right?

You do realize that touching hand-on-ball is not a foul, right?

Saw it before. I remember seeing an angle where Marion gets his hand on top of the ball.

Rich,

When the ball is on the left side of the shooter, the defender is on the right side of the shooter and the defender reaches across 2 sets of arms and "hits the ball". Tell me he "got all ball"

If you were the official there and you didn't see anything but hand/ball contact, are you guessing and calling a foul anyway?

Interesting. My feeling after watching this is at game speed I would've called a foul on Marion--3 shots. But not being on the court and not being an NBA ref perhaps they have a protocall on last second shots? As another poster stated perhaps they let players determine the outcome of the game. While that's a general premise that our crew goes by bot otoh if it's a totally obvious foul you gotta call it. This looked totally obvious

Their protocol is to call a foul if they see a foul...and to not call a foul when they're not sure or don't think it's a foul.
