You make the call: Catch and Award/Homerun?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZxqUjklqQI

Do ASA and/or Fed -

I think a little misinformation was being spread by the announcers there. But I do realize it would be a tough call to make at the moment it happened.

I think this was on another thread or maybe it was a different board.
The announcers are clueless.

I've got a catch and carry on the play, however when I first watched it, I had a good catch and a live ball. I didn't see her step out of play until I watched the replay.
This is a good play for clinics and meetings...just turn down the sound and the play should invoke good conversation.

As per usual with most sports announcers. However, I was surprised watching the ASU/Arizona game last night to hear some rather rules saavy announcers. That was a rare treat indeed.

What about Cat Osterman backing the ump and that LOW pitch then saying sometimes the crowd wants a call and even the pitcher knows the pitch wasnt there, so she would just shake her head.

That was a sun shine moment!

Parade Rainer Oner

For what its worth then, here is the exact frame where I consider possession. The ball is in the glove.

Holy crap, Wade... if I not only had that angle, but the TiVo ability to pause my eyes... I'd be unstoppable on the field!

They'd still argue.

Working by myself - bases loaded 2 outs - D3K BR takes off. I move out and look directly at the catchers foot expecting the catcher to touch home plate.. well.. she doesnt. She throws to 1 but gets the out anyway. I'm 3 feet away looking directly at her foot, which was about 4 inches off the plate.

So between innings Mrs. Super Huge lady with freshly permed perm says "I thought all they had to do is touch home plate". "That's true" "Well the catcher touched home plate". "No, she didnt, I looked directly at her foot to see if she was going to do that, she threw it to first". "Well I've been score keeping for 20 years and i saw her touch the plate"

So I told her: "Look you big mouthed know nothing beezy, go get a burger, I watched it, she didnt touch the g..da#$%^ plate".

No I didnt say that.

But man I wanted to.

1.a) What's the scorekeeper doing asking you questions on the field?
1.b) If she wasn't on the field, what were you doing talking to her behind the fence?
