Had it been me and this exchange had happened, I would have just stood at the spot with the ball and waited for her to tie it. It made me look rally bad because I wouldn't stop play and then my partner does so the very next dead ball. Part of our job as a crew is to make each other look good. This was exactly the opposite.

Sometimes the best way to learn is on the job.

Not the same situation. He was correct in holding up play. You were correct in not holding up play. Why should he be wrong just to make you look good? I'm guessing you were sensitive about it all with what just happened and the coaches incorrect interpretation of the events and may be reading more into his actions than were there.

It's possible the partner showed him up, but not likely. I don't even blow the whistle, though, when I do it; I just hold my hand up if I'm not administering the throw in. I don't even do that much if it's my throw in.

Maybe I was a bit sensitive at the time but it definatley made the crew look split and not as a team. I am not quite sure what you are insuating he should do to be wrong to make me look good. He should have been more aware of the situation, which after talking after the game , he was not, (not faulting him here per se). Had it been me and I had been in his shoes, I would have just waited with the ball at my side to administer the throw in until the player had it tied. I wouldn't have blown my whistle and hovered over them and drawn more attention to a bad situation.
