That doesn't excuse the behavior, especially at the HS level.

I don't know - I don't think it's automatic. Depends on the game, the coach, and any previous behavior. I know we can say that about any situation, but end of game - his kid fouls and he's pissed at the player, I don't see a need to penalize that. Maybe...just depends.

It's hard to say for sure without actually seeing how it was done, but you should absolutely penalize a coach if his/her actions could insight others.
What I mean is that I've heard coaches yell about things before, which gets his players going too. It rarely happens, but I've seen players get worked up and start playing rough, leading to in-game issues. If you whack the coach for such things, then not only will he/she know to calm down, but players will know not to get out of hand too. |
