I have seen it already many times over the last 2 or 3 years. Players at least in my experience in HS have tried it often.

Everything old is new again...
Clyde "The Glide" Frazier, Earl "The Pearl" Monroe, Magic Johnson, all changed direction within the rules, on drives to the basket. Of course, most of the fans, officials and commentators nowadays aren't familiar with their exploits.

The euro step is basically a layup but with lateral steps vs steps strait to the basket. Skip to about 60 seconds

Can't imagine anyone getting confused by what they show there -- nor does it really look any different from what I've seen in play.

It used to be called "going around somebody".

Good point except that NBA pivot foot and NFHS pivot foot are not always obtained the same way

True, but it still holds true...pivot foot up, pivot foot down is a violation no matter the rule set.
