I have all three as violations since team control does not change on deflections. It's a classic case of someone jumping from their front court, catching in mid-air, and landing in their back court. The second they touch it, they have front court status and land in the back court. Violation.

There are exceptions for this. One of these plays is very clearly an exception.

This is the discussion I remember but I don't remember a resolution.

I was on the side of the argument that a tipped throw-in doesn't end the defensive exception.

Many Forum members are still scratching their heads about the two year old rule change regarding team control during a throw-in vis-à-vis backcourt violations.
