Is it still the by the book mechanic to use the hand behind the head on PC fouls in NF?

And it's still used more on the NCAA-Men's side than the punch is.

That's because behind the head is still the official rule book PC signal for NCAAM. The punch is the rule book signal for NCAAW.

Clear undercut by the defender on the shot.

Second part is a charge at all levels except the NBA.

Well since you said it, what is the NBA rule?

A defender must allow an opponent who receives a pass outside the lower defensive box the opportunity to stop and/or change direction.

Player Control. I can see the no call on the shot.

You gotta protect airborne shooters, especially on this play where the undercut came from behind.o

Easy PC foul. Nothing wrong with the mechanic.

Care to expound on that (being able to see a no call on the shot)? That's a clear undercut IMO...you have to have a whistle on that.

It looks like a foul on the shot, but a lot of acting too. Players tend to throw themselves out as if they were killed. But I have no problem with the PC foul at all.

Peace

I'm a Michigan fan, so I am biased on UM-MSU comments, but.

Burke got away with one on the shot. That was a very clear undercut that should have been called. The officials missed that one. The charge was a very clear call as well. I actually slowed the video down and Appling was set while Burke took two steps into him. I would say that would be a charge at every level, including the NBA. Burke had time to stop. You can't penalize a defender because the offensive player wasn't looking when you give him to steps before the contact.

The NBA considers this type of play a cheap tactic and as such is not a legal position. A bang bang play like this in the NBA is a blocking foul.
