I am still trying to make sure my 3 attempt signal is with my "trail" hand, but sometimes it just doesn't happen that way. I don't beat myself up about it, however, I am doing it *most* of the time. Sounds like a "try this because it works for me" suggestion.

I'm a lefty and so I stop/start the clock with that hand. It took some time to get used to making my right hand signal a three point attempt if the situation called for it. You'll get it. Don't think about it, it'll happen naturally.
