Letting Off a Little Steam

Last two games of the season yesterday, travel youth league.
  • Partner, when in lead, had his arms in the air on every three point attempt. Several incorrectly.
  • Never, not once, was there any communication with me when he made a call.
  • Three times I found him in the stands during half/time outs talking with fans. Once he was in the top row of the bleachers.
  • He wore grey shoes.

What a way to close it out. I'm done. Well, except for the 7 weekends of AAU assignments I picked up last week.

I worked a youth tournament this weekend and my partner was wearing jean shorts.

I win.

Wow. We don't even have guys doing that in the summer leagues here. Black shorts, maybe, in a summer game. March? Never shorts of any color.

It's a rec league at a local health club. It's definitely the B youth leage in our area. He's a regular and not a happy camper with me. I made everyone tuck in their shirts to start the night, including him

The look on his face was priceless.

Black shorts are perfectly acceptable (as are black track suit pants) in our area during youth and rec leagues/tournametns.

Shorts are worn at most any rec games here, from what I've heard. Partners will decide on pants or shorts in advance or just show up with both.

Send a message via Yahoo to grunewar
......and now for something completely different!

I had two men's games last night. Both excellent (last one went to double OT- sorry Mark). Plus, I had one of the best partners I had all year.....

Hope my luck continues for one more week!

I was at a mens D1 game this Saturday and one of the refs was chewing a wad of something, likely gum, that appeared to be the size of a golf ball...just didn't look professional.
