Why are some people so preoccupied with the bench? Benches have nothing to do with pregame duties.
3-person: U1 observes home team, U2 observes visiting team, R is at division line 2-person: U1 observes home team, R observes visiting team Nothing changes at halftime. You still observe the same team, just on the other end of the court. This is not that difficult. |

U1 chops the clock from the left of the table (when facing the table). For whatever reason, some can't get it through their minds that this might mean U1 and U2 have to "cross" from their positions during the warmup. They are okay if the home team bench is to the right (when facing) of the table. Then, U1 starts and stays on the left half of the court. But, if the home team bench is to the left of the table, they get all confused. |

I realize what the manual says, but for practical purposes, it's not really needed. All anyone needs to know is which team you're observing during warmups, and it doesn't change throughout the course of the game. |
