Yep, the younger kids in an elementary or middle school gym are more conducive to doing more games. HS gyms are killer - especially two-person.

In college working Intramurals, I worked a 10 game day outside in the South Florida "winter" a couple of times in my years there. The daytime temps would be in the 70s/low 80s in the afternoon for these games. All of these are 2-whistle games, 20 minute halves running except last 2 of 2nd half.

For basketball:

Four 8-min quarter, normal timing rules games for an 8th grade tournament last year. I'm never scheduling something like that again.

Most games I'll do outside of a camp environment is 3 games. During AAU season I let the assignors know I'm available to do 3 games in the morning. Not doing anything after noon because games start falling behind schedule.

Their choice to use me or not use me.

17 in two days...

...8 the first day and 9 the second. Games were split between two college courts. On court A they were running two games across the court (not too bad) and on court B they were running two games lengthwise (brutal). I wasn't able to walk for two days after that.

I've done five twice.

In addition, I've worked three basketball games immediately preceded by two 70-minute soccer games. Soccer ended ten minutes before basketball began. Fortunately, they were at the same school.
