"count the basket"

Tonight during my adult league game, lead official (two man crew) is running down the floor during a one on none fast break. When the ball is at about half court the player that turned the ball over yells "sh*t". The ball is now about at the three point line and the defender is clearly beaten when the lead official tweets the whistle. While lead is on his way to the table to report the "T" I mentioned to him he probably should have delayed the whistle. To my surprise he counts the basket! Of course that starts pandimonium!

lol no I thought you did? The ball handler obviously completed a lay up after the whistle blew if that helps. I was just surprised he counted a basket seconds after the whistle blew just because he agreed with me that he should have in that situation delayed his whistle a couple seconds.

A technical for that? In an adult rec game?

yeah the high school we use is very strict with profanity. They sometimes even have school board members there to narc us out. different i know...

Of course you can share, but do not be upset when folks do not get your point. People usually ask questions or have an overall point. If the point was you were surprised, then OK. Now what?

Well, to me it's a biological function and not a profanity. Is there a list of words you get?

lol the rule is whatever can be said on regular cable television before 9pm is allowed. I know this all seems childish but thats what it takes.

And how do people know what those are. I have heard some pretty racy things said at that time that I would have never thought could be said but on HBO. Seems like a very subjective standard if you ask me.

HBO isn't regular cable. I'm not sure what you want from me jrutledge. I was just mentioning a bizare situation. Sounds like no matter what I say during this post your going to have some kind of devils advicate advice. So sorry for whatever has you upset?
