bloody nose
High school game. A1 has a bloody nose. Taken out but returns a little later. R2 notices the cotton in her nose has a little blood on it & removes her from the game. Correct or not?
Trainer says that he does it all the time in wrestling matches with no problem. |

A Bloody Mess ...
NFHS 3-3-7: A player who is bleeding, has an open wound, has any amount of
blood on his/her uniform, or has blood on his/her person, shall be directed to leave the game until the bleeding is stopped, the wound is covered, the uniform and/or body is appropriately cleaned, and/or the uniform is changed before returning to competition, unless a time-out is requested by, and granted to, his/her team and the situation can be corrected by the end of the time-out. Is the player still bleeding? Is the cotton in her nose considered part of her uniform? Is the wound covered? If the cotton is considered part of the uniform, which it may, or may not, be, is it clean? My guess? Sit out. Change the cotton. But that's a guess and I'm sure that an esteemed Forum member will be along shortly to confirm, or deny, my interpretation.

If a player had a bandage that had blood visible through the tape, would you remove the player? No.

Though a bandage may show blood, it won't let that blood bleed through the bandage like a cotton ball will. With a cotton ball, the blood can still drip,or smear, onto the court, and the player's and others uniforms.

Neither a bandage nor a piece or cotton is part of a player's uniform. If blood drips from her nose, it's because her nose is bleeding. It has nothing to do with the cotton.

Fortune Brands, Inc ...
Absolutely. I own some of their stock. I got killed at the beginning of the recession, but I've held on to it and it's recovering nicely, up to about $60.00 a share.

I think the FO he had in mind could be had considerably cheaper.
