I learned that every coach is always in a better position than you and your partner(s) to see every play.

Too funny. I worked a game several years ago with a guy who was turning 70. Frosh boys. Coach working him over pretty good - wanting a foul. Partner listens to his gripe, then walks behind him, sits in his chair, gets up and says - I guess you really can see better from here. There are only about 15 people in gym but all were laughing. Coach not heard from again.

If I'd have done that coach would have been all over my a$$.

And rightly so. I can't imagine EVER doing that...pretty unprofessional.

I'm not disagreeing. I had no idea that was going to happen. I didn't even know the guy. We had just met at pre-game meeting while changing. I was a substitute. I'm not sure if he was some kind of a legend at that school or what. I was new to the area having just moved.

I will say this, he was up to date and got up and down the court well. Good positioning. I hope when I'm 70 I can do that. I only know of his age because when I got there he made some comment about me getting stuck with "grandpa" and that led into his birthday coming up.

AND - it WAS kind of funny watching the coach's expression from across the court.

Going along with the theme, I've learned that coaches' five second counts are always at least two seconds faster than ours.
