Neither one of them stepped up that night. I watched that game on TV and Valentine was left out to dry. Knight came on the court after Valentine and neither "partner" did a thing, even though Knight had already been ejected.

Can't believe it was that long ago either. I've lived in 3 states since (I was in New Orleans at the time, worked some great hoops that one year there) and have been here now for 8 years.

That was way before my officiating days. I vaguely remember the incident because of the fuss the General made about it afterwards.

I have a very good friend who knows Teddy V pretty well. My friend (one of those guys who likes to repeat stories) always bashes Hightower when retelling the incident, never says much about O'Neill.

Was it Shows who as C called the block against the WVA kid at the foul line when Bledsoe from Kentucky dropped his shoulder and ran over the defender?

The crew for the UK - WVU game was Luckie, Valentine, Shaw.

I think I recall the play you were thinking of.

I believe that Luckie made that block call.

Just attended a camp where Shows was an observer. I had never paid attention to him before on TV but he was a great observer and a very nice guy.

I'm gonna have to check out his games this season.
