Aren't some coaches just the cutest l'il things when they go into their "high dudgeon" mode? I'm with you; I've had a heckuva time repressing the urge to start giggling at some of 'em. They forget that I got a whistle that's 10 feet tall, faster than a speeding bullet, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound and can bend steel with it's bare hands. And I ain't afraid to use it(if I can blow it while giggling).

It's funny, cuzz when I was still playing military ball I used to think staring down a ref accomplished something. Now I realize I looked like an idiot. I now ref with those guys I sillily thought I was intimidating.

They seem to forget that if you could be that easily intimidated, you wouldn't have been assigned to that game in the first place.

I've always felt that the best response to this particular tactic was....nothing. Blank look. That seems to infuriate some of them even more. And it sureasheck also doesn't give them anything that they can complain about later.

Sillily - The act of an official feeling silly when in retrospect the act was not remotely funny.

A Sniglet (snig'lit) - n. Any word that doesn't appear in the dictionary, but should.

In case you're curious, and I know you are, here are some other commonly used sniglets you sometimes see or hear around the courts:

Flabalanche: n. What happens when a fat guy loosens his belt after too much eating at the game.

Gription (grip' shun) - n. The sound of sneakers squeaking against the floor during basketball games.

Ignoranus: A person (fan/coach) who's both stupid and an a$$hole.

P-spot (pee' spaht) - n. The area directly above the urinal in public restrooms that men stare at, knowing a glance in any other direction would arouse suspicion.

Pepperlonely...the piece of pepperoni left on the cardboard when you pick up a piece of pizza.

Snuggage (snuh 'gaj) - n. The act of retying both shoestrings when only one needed it.

Voitlock (voyt' lok) - n. When the basketball gets lodged between the rim and the backboard.

While sniglets are real, some of these were slightly expanded upon.....

When it's not being used at a game, does it wear glasses and work at a newspaper? And wasn't that hot mom in the third row Lois Lane?

BTW - years ago, I reffed with a guy named Jimmy Olson. I should have made him refer to me as "Mr. Kent".

This is true. In this play, the K-State player caught it either while laying on the ground or going to the ground and threw it toward the BC with both hands. If that wasn't the definition of control, I don't know what is.

good no call on last regulation possession, 3 foul shots. Talked to a couple of college playing buddies of mine and they both said the same thing that you have to foul harder and not some weird two armed grab.
Awesome game! Kansas St. fans must have been going crazy when Xavier kept coming back.
