Do you have a separate car for when you work baseball, or does your contract with PODS come with a separate unit for baseball?
He said he's got a week -- what do you think he'll be doing besides swapping the gear?

I'm not sure that's enough time; unless he hires a crew from Craig's List.

Separate unit. I found it was easier and less stressful in the event of during the transfer I'd forget to pack something.

Good point... I'm worried I won't have enough time.

Blah... lucky you... I hit my limit for the year. I was on my way to a game.

I was able to make it to the game; however, I had to get a ride home (40 miles) as it cracked my radiator and all the fluid had leaked out.

It was an interesting night to say the least.

You didn't have an extra car in your bag?

This made me start thinking so i sat down and added all of my games so after all of that work I might as well post it here as well:

From beginning of season. Includes scrimmages and tournaments. (Also includes games this weekend.)

160 games total

6- JVB
2- 8G
8- 8B
6- 9B
23- VB
29- VG
39- Biddy
19- 9-10 (girls and boys comp rec games)
9- 13-14 (boys comp rec games)
1- 15-17 (Boys Parish championship)
2- 7B
19- MS
1- 4A VG Playoff game

4 Technicals
1 - VG HC
1 - VG AC
1 - 9-10B AC
1 - 13-14B player

Ejected 1 fan for pointing at me and telling me that he's going to show me what a foul is. (took as a threat, guy seemed drunk)

VG AC that received T from me ended up getting 2nd from my partner and was ejected. Apparently we were sad sacks of sh*t and she wouldn't be saying anything if we called some f****** fouls. (our assignor was working the clock and asked why we didn't throw her out sooner.....)

Equipment purchased:

1 shirt
1 pair of pants
2 whistles
1 smitty lanyard
1 Jacket
Enough powerade to warrant at least a few shares of Coca-Cola stock...

Highest game fee = $78
Lowest game fee = $15
Average game fee = $30-$40

Total sum: $not sure yet

Furthest travel = 70 miles (playoff game)
Shortest travel = 2 miles (school by my house)

Used the same whistle and lanyard all year except for 3 afternoon games. Did morning games that day and had whistle in pocket and left it on my desk at home.

Partners ranged from the guy with the football referee shirt and white socks with a pea whistle to guy that does some SEC and ACC ball.

Had a great year and learned an awful lot. I learn something new every game. Which is a good thing but if what I am learning are rules every game, not so much. Luckily though, not the case.

Doing my first playoff game was an experience and I had a freakin' blast! Hopefully I get lucky and can get another before the year is over. In Louisiana you go to different areas of the state for the first couple of rounds of the playoffs so we got to go about 70 miles away for two teams we hadn't seen all year. I hadn't even heard of one of the schools before.

Lots of AAU and spring/summer leagues around here so hopefully I'll have games through June or so. I look forward to going to my first camp and can't wait for next year.

And thanks to all of you guys on this forum. I've actually learned a rule here and then had a situation the next night happen that applies to what I had learned the night before. What would I do without you all?

Actually... that is one thing I don't have. Then again, I never really thought about it. Ahhhh what the heck, I'll look into it for next year.

I forgot to add that this year I had my first experience with a fan being removed. My partner actually did it toward the end of a GV game. There were a few rows of students in the first few rows of bleachers opposite the table. H team drives to score and we don't call anything, one of the kids yells "Nice call jackass" at my partner right after the play, which ended up in a held ball. He turns around and asks who it was and the kid owned up to it right away. He was waiting in the lobby with the AD to apologize to us after the game.
