Pre-Game Warm-up Lap Illinois

After reading drshawnpets post I started to wonder about the practice of one team on the court and the other doing the pre-game lap, around the other teams basket.
Is there a penalty? I know there was a rules interp or POE on this a few years ago. I did a search and most of the answers were "check with you local Assoc."
What is the common sense answer to stop this if I am on the court, prior to the game, observing warm ups? Try to stop-it, let it go? I am talking prelim. games

bob j, JRut, tjones, or others what is the IHSA's POE/Intrep on this
Thanks

...yawn...hey, what's all the racket! How's a guy supposed to get some sleep around here?!?

Well, since I had to get up anyway (my boss hates it when I sleep at work), I looked on the IHSA website about that very issue. It says, in a posting dated 1/22/10:

4. Team warm ups: Upon taking the floor for games, teams should not run through, between, or in any way interfere with, an opponent’s pre-game warm-up.
• It is recommended that teams take the floor by running around the ˝-court area in front of their bench upon taking the floor. (NOTE: in some facilities, teams may have to run by an opponent to get to their side of the floor for warm-ups; this should NOT be penalized, unless the team or any of its members act in an unsporting manner while running by their opponents.)
• Teams may only run around their half of the court as they begin their warm ups.
Officials should be prepared to assess the appropriate penalty (a team technical as found in Rule 10-1-8) to a team, team member, or coach who demonstrates the unsporting acts explained above.

So, at least in IL, we are to impose a T for unsporting behavior.

Now, I'm going back to sleep.

Yabut, you were the one that responded. Don't you know we always see and punish the retaliation?
