M&M Guy |

...yawn...hey, what's all the racket! How's a guy supposed to get some sleep around here?!?
Well, since I had to get up anyway (my boss hates it when I sleep at work), I looked on the IHSA website about that very issue. It says, in a posting dated 1/22/10:
4. Team warm ups: Upon taking the floor for games, teams should not run through, between, or in any way interfere with, an opponent’s pre-game warm-up.
• It is recommended that teams take the floor by running around the ˝-court area in front of their bench upon taking the floor. (NOTE: in some facilities, teams may have to run by an opponent to get to their side of the floor for warm-ups; this should NOT be penalized, unless the team or any of its members act in an unsporting manner while running by their opponents.)
• Teams may only run around their half of the court as they begin their warm ups.
• Officials should be prepared to assess the appropriate penalty (a team technical as found in Rule 10-1-8) to a team, team member, or coach who demonstrates the unsporting acts explained above.
So, at least in IL, we are to impose a T for unsporting behavior.
Now, I'm going back to sleep.
