A local high school player who ended up playing D1, on a then nationally-ranked high school team broke a backboard at another school during an away game his senior season. He was widely known as a dunker, but it's the first and only time I've heard of it happening around here. They had to move the rest of the game into the school's second gym.

My first memory of basket destruction was when Shaq brought down the entire goal at New Jersey in the early 90's.

My HS played against Jerome's Akron St. V's shortly after I graduated....hmmmm....that's makes me older than a number of the guys on this forum....
