Slippery floor

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with slipping all over the floor. I have tried hair spray, it works well but does not last very long.

Are you slipping all over before or after the floor's been swept?

I know it used to be done, a damp towel near the team bench that players would step on before going on the court. There's also the mats that I've seen used.

Giving You the Slip?

Tilex, or similar.
Out of curiousity I tried the tub and tile cleaner my wife had in a spray bottle in the utility room and it seemed to work great. Lasted the whole game.
Put your shoes in a plastic bag before stowing in your carry bag, however. Everything will smell like Tilex by the time you open it back up.
Then again, Tilex would smell better than my Underarmor.

Use your hand to wipe the dust from the soles of your shoes, like you see the players do. However, don't lick your palms before, or especially after doing this, as you sometimes see players do. Ewwww

I make use of the wet towels or sticky mats laid out in front of the table. I also wear New Balance cross trainers which don't seem to collect dust as easily compared to basketball shoes I've worn.

I haven't seen anything done like it i over a year with the towels or sticky mats. Could there be new shoe designs out that don't require that trick?

We have several cafeterias in our rec leagues that double as basketball courts. They are impossible not to slide on. We’ve used the sticky mats and towels and they only work temporarily. Traveling calls in these leagues are tough.….

I may try Tilex next time.

Yes, these sticky mats are a god-send, but may not be for everyone. They definitely do take the dust off yoru shoes though. Using somethign like this and fresh shoes shoudl be all you need. I was lipping and sliding recently, but I just had to finally get rid of my favorite nike air huarache 2k3's I had... I loved those shoes!
