Ah, but in every game 50% of the teams win, and 50% lose. That's just as Dr. Naismith designed the game, in it's purity. Any well-informed student of the game (especially those that played some college basketball or who referee locally) can easily and naturally extrapolate that 50% of the fouls should be called on each team.

That's why when the coach points out that the foul count is eight to one, we make sure to call the next seven fouls on the other team, to even up the count. That's our job. It's in the Coach's Book O' Basketball Rules, so you know it's true.

I'm a baseball guy, some years remnoved from doing hoops, but this is just absurd.

Both, imo.

I first read a similar study something like 10 years ago. None has stood up to any serious scrutiny.
