We are a biased bunch aren't we?

What do you think of this study?

This study may be getting more air play on officiating discussion boards than any other place. Ironic.

They left out one of the more intriguing statistics. The winning team only wins 50% of the time.

I guess I should have checked before I posted. I noticed the date on the article, and thought it was current news, and I haven't checked the board in awhile.

Ah, but in every game 50% of the teams win, and 50% lose. That's just as Dr. Naismith designed the game, in it's purity. Any well-informed student of the game (especially those that played some college basketball or who referee locally) can easily and naturally extrapolate that 50% of the fouls should be called on each team.

That's why when the coach points out that the foul count is eight to one, we make sure to call the next seven fouls on the other team, to even up the count. That's our job. It's in the Coach's Book O' Basketball Rules, so you know it's true.

Does this fit under the most misunderstood rules category?

It falls under "they'll never understand no matter how long we try to explain it"

The article or our discussion about it?
