I use vecro....sew-on velcro on the shirt...self adhesive on the back of the patch. The "soft" part of the velcro is on the shirt (so it doesn't snag while laundering) and coarse part on the patch. That way, the patch can be removed and used on a different shirt. Also, preparing a new patch takes all of a few seconds. I use two strips of white velcro placed on consecutive white stripes...which puts them almost at the edges of the patch.
