In the NBA, everyone can enter the lane on the release except for the free throw shooter...
RULE NO. 9—FREE THROWS AND PENALTIES Section I—Positions and Violations b. The free throw shooter may not step over the plane of the free throw line until the ball touches the basket ring, backboard or the free throw ends. e. ...All players must remain on the court behind the three point line above the free throw line extended until the ball is released. |
