I have Boys MS tonight - 7th and 8th grade with two coaches who chirp BIG TIME. One chirper loves to shout "And one!" everytime a player of his makes an attempt below the free throw line. I like the guy I'm working with, though, and I think we'll have fun.

I have a FB/JVB set tonight.

Great game last night! Down to the buzzer! Two forth quarter intentional fouls (some of the easiest calls I've ever made) and a T after a foul on a 3-point shot, for the ole yanking the shirt out of the pants (5 shots and the ball).

PS - Coach asked me, what did he say, "I said, coach, he yanked his shirt completely out of his pants - automatic T." Coach looked at the player and said, "That's the second time in two weeks." After the game, coach said, "Man, I had him do 25 laps last time." Wonder what he has in store this time.......

Yes, Grune, can you elaborate on this auto-T situation?

One boys freshman game tonight. Good thing is that we make game fee + $15 if we work a single game. Add mileage and it'll be over $70 for one game.

Three freshman boys tournament games tomorrow.

For me, I use Rule 10, Section 3, Art 6 - Disrespectfully addressing or contacting an official or gesturing in such a manner as to indicate resentment.

When I called a foul on this player, for me his actions were a no brainer. He got demonstrative and theatrical and made a scene by yanking out his jersey for everyone in the gym to see. Not in my game. I'd do it again every time. And, as I said before, another official apparently beat me to it as he was T'd up for his same action/reaction to a call he didn't like in another game. He will either learn this is behavior will not be tolerated......or not.

Just finished up 2-man Girls V. Good game with two evenly matched teams - score and fouls stayed even until home team broke it open in the 4th period. Visitors only used two TO's in the whole game.

Two games tomorrow - Girls JV in a.m. then 3-man Girls V in the evening.

I wound up working a boys' JV game alone tonight. First-year AD got his officials mixed up and told the official I was supposed to be working with that he wasn't needed.

Visitors got out of the gate fast and cruised to a 25-point win (and shot at least 70% from the floor in the process). Wound up calling at least 25 fouls all-told--including five on the home team's star player. Neither coach made a peep.

Whoever posted those guidelines for working solo--thank you. I didn't follow them to the letter, but a few specific points made this experience a lot better than it could've been.

Central Illinois was beautiful today.... hit just over 50. Had a boys V game. 42degrees when I left the game and drove by the bank in that town. Blow out but easy and fun.
