I used to use "ladies" as well, but a couple of years ago I had an evaluator (yes, she was a female evaluator) absolutely crawl up my back about saying "ladies" (see also, "girls, "gals" and "chicks"). Now, if I use anything at all, I say "players"...which helps because then I don't have to remember if they're boys or girls!

I bounce once or twice and that's it, just personal preference, any delay in inbounding and a short toot.
