Greg Monroe’s contact lens

Anyone catch the Georgetown–Uconn game on Monday? During the game Greg Monroe had lost his contact and the refs stopped the game until he got it back in and was ready to play. It took around 3 minutes or so. Is this normally how this sort of thing is handled in the college games? What about high school?
I would have thought that they would require Georgetown to take a time out or cough up a sub.
