I will stop any play when eye glass's hit the floor however.

They are a hazard if stepped or fell upon and broken

I had this last night. Kid's eyeglasses came off, we played on. He ran over, picked them up, and kept playing.

In my opinion, if the kid doesn't want his glasses to come off his face, he can spend the 2 bucks to buy the strap that goes behind his head to attach them.

Maybe you should listen to the coach and stop the game immediately. You know we have to listen to them to make them happy. You see the kid might have to pay a lot of money for those contacts. We might get sued for a new set of contacts if we do not stop the game immediately.

Peace

Cute Rut. I assume you purposefully misconstrued the intent of the other side with this.

I say stop the game and look for them as quickly as possible. My contacts cost about $80 for 6 pair and I one pops out of my eye, I am going to stop and look for it!

I have always kind of treated contacts and glasses the same way as an injured player. If the opposing team is not on a fast break or no team is getting ready to score I will stop the game immediately.

I feel that the longer you play and the kids move around it may be that much harder to find a contact.

I still don't know how those kids can see those little contacts on the floor anyway, but you always have one eagle eye spotting it.

Contact or Glasses, unless it is a fast break to the goal, I'm going to stop play immediately and go looking for them.

If I drop one of mine, it requires my wife or daughter to find it, but I've found 2 this year on the court when we stopped to look. Remember to look on the person as they sometimes stick to their shirt and never make it to the floor.

All this contact talk, has anyone had laser surgery and what do you think?

Unhappy

Loss of contact lens or glasses should be treated the same as an injury. I remember reading that somewhere, but I couldn't find it in the NFHS rule book. I'll try to track it down. Maybe it was a previous thread here and I'm using circular logic.

Never mind. It was in a referee manual for a rec league. I was supposed to go see a memory specialist, but I forgot to make an appointment.
