Substitute responsibilities for 3-man

I know this is basic for three man, but who has the responsibilities for substitutes. Is it the T or C whomever is closer to the bench or does the T have the responsibility. the other two officials may notice it, acknowledge the sub but then pass it off to the trail to finish the substitution.

Around here it's pretty standard that any official who sees the subs blows the whistle and beckons.

Then, if we're in a "half-court" set, the table-side trail or center takes the subs and signals when we're ready for play. In a full-court situation, the center always takes the subs.

Who ever is closest to the table unless that official is also administering a throw in. Then its the official opposite. Also when the ball is going long new lead can start the process and turn the subs over to the new center.

So there's a chance two officials will beckon?

It's better to just go by the book. Tableside wing official, unless that person has the throw-in, then go opposite. If going long and the new lead, pass over to the center opposite.
