Just MHO, but your comment is not funny, and the picture you posted is worse. Those animals are trained to kill each other for sport. Why would post a picture of a felony that will get you sent to jail for 3 years? Great choice for an officiating website.

Mark,
I found your post and picture to be funny on any website. By the way, any conspiracy theorists think this was staged to get people to actually notice the WNBA? I can't say I knew they were playing until I saw the fight on the news.

Does anyone know if the WNBA has the same rules/policies on fighting and leaving the bench as the NBA?? If so, there's going to be a bunch of suspensions from this thing.

I haven't talked with my two friends (yes, I have friends, ) who officiates in the WNBA, but from other conversations that I have had with them in the past, that except for some differences in playing rules, the conduct rules are the same no matter whether you are a male or female player.

No, but I like dogs a helluva lot more than I like a bunch of birds.

Not in and of itself, but just because something is a serious issue doesn't mean we can't laugh at it. I'd laugh at a good dog fighting joke as well.

What's the difference? I'd say 9 out of every 10 questions that someone comes on here and asks about, gets about 20 stupid replies from the same people and the question never gets answered.

We have people all over the world here (literally). It is not a crime in ever country and personally the attitude about fighting animals might not be my bag, but the overreaction to it all the time is in my opinion misplaced. I wish human beings would be more concerned with human beings than animals. JMHO.

Peace

I agree that there is often an overreaction to animal abuse stories, but I don't think that happened here. I merely -- and calmly -- asked why he would post such a picture on this website. And although cockfighting is not a crime all over the world, it is a felony in every state of the US that I know of, including Oregon, where Mark lives. Hopefully, I am not overreacting by simply stating again that such pictures are inappropriate to this site. I won't be insulted if you disagree, but that's my feeling.

Scrappy,

We are not talking about child porn here. This is a picture of an event that in some jurisdictions was and still is legal in parts of the country. If Cockfighting is illegal now, it certainly was not always illegal. It is a picture to make a joke. Next thing you are going to tell me if someone shows a picture of someone smoking a cigarette is inappropriate if the person smoking is in a bar. In my state and in many others this activity would be illegal right now, but a few months ago was completely legal.

All I am saying this is a picture. It is a picture that is making a joke. And considering all the other pictures I have found much more objectionable here this does not show anything other than a possible "illegal activity." I know it was legal at one time in a certain state in the south because a famous boxer was involved in an interview.

Peace
