WNBA new format

WNBA TO ALIGN MORE WITH FIBA RULES

The three major rule changes for this year include a four-quarter format (4 x 10 minutes), 24-second shot clock and eliminating jump balls to begin the second, third and fourth quarters. The WNBA has more international players than the Men's NBA, and these players will be very accustomed to the new format.

Those three major rule changes are already NBA rules as well. I'd be interested in hearing if the intent was to conform to FIBA (for the sake of foreign players) or simply to come into line with their parent league.

If they really wanted to move toward FIBA, they might try the trapezoidal lane (blech!).

I acctually have to agree with chuck, the lane change would make it more to fiba then the other ones
I'm not used to WNBA, where is the 3-point line? FIBA or NBA? and what did they play before, 4x12 like the nba? or the 2x20 style?

The WNBA? Are we that starved for subjects to post on? You have found a subject that may generate less interest than the NBA.

Actually, officiating-wise the WNBA is more interesting to me. Because of their summer schedule they have some NCAA officials working their games.

Not like anybody cares about my thoughts on the subject, just felt like typing b/c i'm avoiding some work here at my desk.
