UCLA team control foul

The "not a foul" pic is the last shot attempt by Texas A&M v. UCLA. On the initial live action play I thought "good block". When they showed the replay I said "oops, looked like a foul". But the 3 officials on the court don't have still photographs and replays to determine fouls. Plus, I didn't see the whole game so I don't know what similar plays may have been "not a foul" on the other end.

I saw the whole game including this play about 10 times. The first time I saw it live, I thought it was a good block. However, after seeing it back it was definitely a foul. The officials only get one chance and I think Shipp's play on the shooter was so quick it was difficult to tell live if it was clean. It does seem like UCLA has been getting the long end of the stick at the end of games this season.

You saw the whole game 10 times? Why? Did you think the score would change? If you believe the 3 officials missed this call, then they apparently did not receive their training in CA. As everyone knows, the CA trained officicals are ready for college ball in only 3 years. Maybe they need remedial training. UCLA definitely got outplayed until Love decided to take over for a couple of minutes.

I watch a lot of video. It's the best way for me to get better. I don't just watch plays to see if it was right or wrong; I watch to see positioning and communication among other things.
I never said that CA officials are ready in 3 years. I said the opportunity in SoCal in my area is there to be ready in 3 years. Not everybody does all the work some of us have done to get prepared. Not everybody improves at the same rate or starts at the same point. All the officials I've seen advance that quickly were former collegiate players which I think gives one a feel for the game that is hard to duplicate.
