Hey there - happy to chat about it. I had worked the men's side 1st as I moved into JC, NAIA and D3. At that level all the assignors on both sides got along and communicated about officials with each other. I was asked about interest in moving to the women's game. I was able to attend a D1 womens camp ... and then I was approached by the JC, D3 and D2 assignors if I was interested in officiating that side. I said I was but still wanted to work some mens games too and that was agreed upon. And then the next summer at the same camp I was offered a D1 contract. I continued to work some mens JC and boys HS to stay sharp though as a D2 womens game or lower was poor preparation for D1 womens comp.

I know that you haven't posted since 2010, but I'm interested to know how you have been able to officiate both men's and women's college games, if supervisors will not hire you to do both.
