Free Throw Violation?
After reading the post and threads regarding the shot clock, during the thread it sort of went off topic and spoke about free throws in which I became confused about what I thought was a violation. Heres the question: When A1 is on the foul line and attempting free throw(s) if (s)he misses the first shot of a one-and-one or the second of two awarded free throws and fails to hit the rim isn't this a violation and you award the ball underneath to team B for a throw-in? This violation is called by all officials that I have seen but for the life of me I cannot find this violation outlined in either the 07-08 rules or case book? The same violation is called on the second try of two or the first of a one-and-one regardless of whether it hits the backboard or net. It must hit the rim... correct?

Thank You
Thanks "T"... I thought I was losing my mind I was unable to find the rule and when I glanced at rule 9-1-3a I thought it was referring to the 10 seconds only and failed to read the entire script.
